OK, I need to stop stop stop talking about Rihanna already. Turning scary.
I’m keeping it short. I’m not sure who or what vibe has suddenly hit this fabulush girl but these ‘leaking’ singles, supposedly off her upcoming album, Rated R, are shocking in how little excitement they erupt in me. I don’t think I’m alone here. First came ‘Russian Roulette’, which is fine, then came ‘Wait your turn’,which isn’t bad, now it’s ‘Hard’. I’m liking ‘Hard’ – it should have been the first single. She’s continuing from where she left off with Disturbia, we understand, I’m still liking her new vibe though, a lot. I’ll like it more over time.
Watch the ‘Wait your turn’ vid. The wait is over!
After much anticipation, Def Jam Records finally announced, yesterday October 20th, that Riri will be releasing her fourth studio album, aptly titled Rated ‘R’, which is the follow-up to “Good Girl Gone Bad” which came out in 2007 and spawned the hit single “Umbrella”.
‘Russian Roulette’, the first single, premiered yesterday on Rihanna’s official website, rihannanow.com, and was written and produced by label-mate, Ne-Yo, while Justin Timberlake, The Dream etc. are on the list producers and collaborators featured in the album.
Can’t wait!!! #ttby
It’s not that simple to recall that Rihanna is a bit of a fashion-show newbie, what with how she appears to navigate the front-row gauntlet at the likes of Paris Fashion Week with such savvy glam. Not so long ago she was SOS-ing, and whining quite a bit in her music, and apparently her looks left something to be desired but this time ’round (at least on the fashion front) she’s turned things a whole 360°, positively ruling the front-row in looks that make picky trendsetters swoon wherever she goes. Recently at Paris Fashion week, she began the week in a sexy goth number – a stretchy shadow-stripe dress, oversized Wayfarer-esque sunglasses and dark purple lips. At Balmain, she chose to go fresh-faced in a straight peak-shouldered tuxedo jacket, lace bustier, and harem pants. For the Vivienne Westwood show, she opted for an oversized tuxedo jacket and ‘groovy’ fringed suede boots! All sublimely-yummy looks.
Her stylist Mariel Haenn, says Riri’s upcoming album cover shoot will feature more “real” attire – wonder what that means – so long as it sees her continuing to push the avant-garde envelope!
I for one, love it!
