Recently ‘Ye held a private gala at the The Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
When he arrived onstage, Mr. West was almost certainly the most underdressed person in the garden, in a gray hooded sweatshirt, white T-shirt, light blue jeans and black sneakers, as decsribed by Kirsten Luce of the New York Times.
Kanye has always made it clear (throughout his music career) that apart from the rap hustle, he’s still a student who comes from the art culture background. He idolized greats such as Andy Warhol growing up, and considers himself a gifted artist having received many accolades for his illustrations in his hometown of Chicago. ‘Ye’s obsession with art is visible in everything from his selection of album covers down to his sense of style.
Performing at the MoMA (with a surprise appearance by Jay-Z towards the end of the night) further displays his love for fashion along with his commitment to the culture of art. We love Yeezy.
