The song speaks

If ever a song made me sad AND happy at the same time, this would be it.

A beautiful moment in the first SATC film, the song “Auld Lang Syne” plays as Carrie heads over to Miranda’s house, reminding us that though we may try to isolate ourselves from others through distance or the darkness of our own loneliness, we are never truly alone.

It is not New Year’s Eve or anything but I’ve been playing it quite a lot lately, I think it’s probably because I’m at a cross-roads in my life – there are a lot of ‘firsts’ coming up soon for me…shall keep you posted on which route I end up on… 🙂

As it turns out, “Auld Lang Syne” is an old Scottish song that was first written in the 1700s, and translated into English, “auld lang syne” means “times gone by.”
